Security Settings

Applying appropriate security policies based on the nature of the live stream is essential for protecting the value of your content and optimizing delivery costs. For environments where only authorized users should be able to watch, such as paid seminars or internal training, Kollus Live provides step-by-step security solutions ranging from preventing unauthorized link sharing to domain blocking.

Channel access settings​

Set the channel's access permission to public or private.

  • Setting path: Kollus Live console > [Channel] > [Channel list] > [Edit] to the right of the target channel > [Visibility]
Setting optionDescription
PublicAnyone can freely watch through the View URL (Video Gateway link).
PrivateEven if the URL is exposed externally, unauthorized users are blocked from viewing. Generates a one-time JWT (JSON Web Token)-based authentication URL to allow access.

Concurrent playback prevention​

Restricts simultaneous viewing from multiple devices using the same account.

  • Setting path: Kollus Live console > [Channel] > [Channel list] > [Edit] to the right of the target channel > Activate [Duplicate IDs]

AES-128 encryption​

Encrypts HLS stream data with the AES-128 algorithm to prevent unauthorized theft of video files.

Multi-DRM​

Applies standard DRM technologies such as Widevine and FairPlay to build a robust content protection environment.

Block external display output​

Blocks external display output via HDMI, projectors, and other devices.

  • Setting path: Kollus Live console > [Channel] > [Channel list] > [Edit] to the right of the target channel > Activate [Kollus secure player] > Activate [Block external display output]
  • Secure player guide: Applying the Kollus-exclusive secure player provides a strong level of security, but depending on the viewer's operating system and browser environment, a dedicated module installation guide may be required. We recommend consulting with your Account Manager before implementation.

Block screen recording/capture​

Detects and blocks screen recording/capture programs. When a recording/capture attempt is made, the screen turns black or playback is stopped.

  • Setting path: Kollus Live console > [Channel] > [Channel list] > [Edit] to the right of the target channel > Activate [Kollus secure player] > Activate [Recording/capture prevention]

Block playback when manipulating video watermark​

Blocks playback if the watermark displayed on the player screen is removed or altered.

Referrer settings​

Prevents unauthorized embedding by specifying domains that are allowed or blocked from playing the broadcast.
