Live broadcasts convert(Transcode) the original streamed video into various quality levels suited to the viewer's network environment and device performance. The predefined settings for resolution, bitrate, codec, and more are referred to as an encoding profile.
Kollus Live generates up to 3 Multi-Bitrate streams after ingesting the original source, providing users with an optimized Adaptive Bitrate(ABR) streaming environment.
Profile groups
Encoding profiles can be managed in Kollus Live console > [Settings] > [Encoding profile]. Select one of two groups depending on the purpose of the broadcast.
- Default - landscape: A horizontal encoding profile suitable for viewing on PC or TV.
- Default - portrait: A vertical encoding profile optimized for mobile short-form or portrait-oriented live streams.

The values in parentheses in the video resolution column are the resolutions applied when the portrait profile is selected.
Standard encoding specifications
- Adaptive Bitrate(ABR): Flexibly adjusts bandwidth according to the viewer's network conditions within the range of 400 Kbps to 2 Mbps.
- Protocol: Complies with the HLS(HTTP Live Streaming) standard specification.
- Video codec: H.264 / 30 fps based
- Audio codec: AAC / up to 192 Kbps / up to 48 kHz
