Kollus Player provides the ability to display video ads and banner images before, after, or during video playback. This feature can be configured independently on a per-channel basis, allowing you to run differentiated ad strategies for each content group.

Note
  • Account permissions: Trial accounts are restricted from creating and editing player events.
  • Latest version support: When using the latest version of Kollus Web Player, ads can also be displayed on content with Multi DRM applied.

Main event types​

  • Event on Play: A method that directly specifies the ad image or video URL and manually controls the display timing and whether skipping is allowed.
  • VMAP (Video Multiple Ad Playlist): An XML-based standard ad format that controls the playback timing and order of multiple ads within a single video.

Event configuration procedure​

Step 1: create an event​

  1. Click Kollus VOD console > [Settings] > [Player] > [Event] tab > [Add event] in the upper right.
  2. Configure each item and click [Add].
    • If the event type is Event on Play: Click [Add] to the right of the [Event list] to configure media information.

Step 2: apply the event to a channel​

  1. Click Kollus VOD console > [Channel] > [More options (⋮)] to the right of the target channel > [Player settings].
  2. Select the target event under [Player event] and click [Save].

Edit events​

  • To change the settings of an existing event, click the Kollus VOD console > [Settings] > [Player] > [Event] tab > edit icon to the right of the target event.
  • Changes are immediately reflected in all channels where that event is applied.
