Country Access Control

Notice

This document is a machine-translated draft and is currently undergoing review. Some content may be inaccurate or differ from the original Korean version. For the most precise information, refer to the Korean documentation.

Kollus VOD delivers high-quality, low-latency streaming to global users through CDN(Content Delivery Network) edge servers strategically deployed worldwide.

The Country access settings feature is a security tool that selectively restricts IP access from specific countries along the content delivery path. This allows you to protect content with limited copyright distribution regions or effectively defend against abnormal traffic attacks from specific countries.

Caution

This feature identifies countries based on the IP address currently used by the viewer. Please note that identification results may vary depending on the use of VPNs or proxy servers.

Country access control policies

You can choose one of the following two security policies based on your business needs.

  • Whitelist (allow) method: Designate only specific target countries to allow access, and block all other international access at the source.
  • Blacklist (block) method: Designate specific countries with high content leakage risk or where service provision is unnecessary to block access, while allowing playback from all other countries.

How to configure Country access settings

You can establish country-based security policies at the channel level.

  1. Go to Kollus VOD console > [Channel].
  2. Click [More options (⋮)] > [Country access settings] from the channel list on the left or the channel card.
  3. Select a target country, then click [Allow] or [Block] as appropriate to add it to the list.
    • Duplicate registration restriction: The same country can only belong to either the allow or block list, not both.
    • List management: Countries registered in the list can be quickly removed by clicking the trash icon on the right.
  4. After a final review of the country list, click outside the settings window to save automatically. The policy will be immediately applied to all content in that channel.
